Gamieda Gierdien – Operations and Finance Manager

Gamieda has been at UCT since 1999 and is currently the Operations and Finance Manager for Power Futures Lab. Previously, she managed the Operations and Finance for Energy Research Center (ERC) at the University of Cape Town, where she managed multiple, internationally funded projects. Highlights of Gamieda’s career include serving as Project Coordinator to the Sustainable Energy, Environment and Development (SEED) Programme in which she assisted in providing business training to local energy cooperatives in the Eastern Cape and Northern Province. She completed her business studies at the UCT’s GSB and enjoys mentoring and coaching administrative staff. She is passionate about developing previously disadvantaged individuals by supporting bursary opportunities.
