Gamieda Gierdien – Operations and Finance Manager

Gamieda Gierdien has been at UCT since 1999 and is currently the Finance and Operations Manager for the Power Futures Lab at UCT- Graduate School of Business. Previously, Gamieda was Finance and Operations Manager for the Energy Research Center (ERC) at the University of Cape Town. Her expertise includes managing multiple, internationally funded Research Projects. Highlights of Gamieda's career include serving as Project Coordinator to the Sustainable Energy, Environment and Development (SEED) Programme in which she assisted in providing business training to local energy cooperatives in the Eastern Cape and Northern Province. She frequently travels to African countries to manage the Electricity Regulator Peer Review and Learning Network workshops. She completed her business studies at the UCT’s GSB and enjoys mentoring and coaching administrative staff. She is passionate about developing previously disadvantaged individuals by supporting bursary opportunities.
