Our Story

The Power Futures Lab (PFL) is based at the University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business and has operated since 2001. We are dedicated to advancing solutions and building capacity in Africa's power sector through research, education and policy advisory.

We equip African leaders with the tools needed to navigate a rapidly evolving landscape for energy markets and technologies, and our research advances solutions that promote sustainability, economic development and social welfare across the continent. Through our extensive network of local and international experts, we bridge global best practices with African realities.
