Olakunle Alao

Olakunle Alao is a researcher at the Power Futures Lab (MIRA) responsible for tracking investments in the Sub-Saharan Africa power sector. Olakunle holds an M.Sc. (Eng.) in Electrical Engineering at the University of Cape Town and a B.Eng. (first class honors) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Covenant University in Nigeria. Olakunle has about five (5) years’ experience in the power sector. During this time, he has worked as an analyst (market competition and rates) with the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC); worked on the Energy and Economic Growth (EEG) project funded by Oxford Policy Management; and consulted for the African Development Bank Group and Inspired Evolution Investment Management Pty (Ltd). He is currently a fellow of the Open Africa Power 2020 by Enel Foundation.
